Introduction: Homemade Purse From Plastic Bags and Shreds of Different Cloth Designs

We had a budge of a lot of shopping bags and old cloth materials. So I decided to make a purse which can be used for casual outgoings. I used the earthly colors to give it a natural and traditional look.

Supplies

the materials I used are:

1) shopping (plastic) bags

2) shreds of old cloth materials ( of five different designs)

3) screw driver to punch holes in the cutout

4) belt of a worn out purse

Step 1:

Cut the desired shape out of the bag. Let the bottom of the bag be the sealed edge of the shopping bag.

Step 2:

First draw a grid of 1cm on the cutout. Punch holes on the intersection of the lines. A pattern of holes is formed.

Step 3:

Now, sew one end of the shred in one hole and the other end in other hole. Flip the bag and tie a knot. Continue this process until all the holes are covered.

Step 4:

Once that is done the front side will look like this. The background is covered by the shreds. Cover the whole bag and then add the belt on both ends of the bag. Cover the insides by another plastic bag cutout or cloth.
