Introduction: Honey Joys

About: Hello and Welcome to In the Kitchen With Matt. I am your host Matt Taylor. My goal for the show is to teach you how to cook really good food at home for cheap. Eating out everyday can get expensive, but it doe…

What is the best way to eat corn flakes? Using them to make Honey Joys of course! In this instructable I will show you how to make Honey Joys. Honey Joys are a yummy treat popular in Australia. The recipe is super easy to make using very few ingredients, corn flakes, butter, sugar, and honey. They taste kind of like frosted flakes stuck together with a hint of buttery honey taste, oh so yummy! They are a perfect activity to make with kids. Who knows maybe you will put a few of them in a bowl with some milk and eat it for breakfast...lol. If I can do it you can do it, let's get started!

Step 2: Sugar, Butter, and Honey, Oh Yeah

First let's preheat the oven to 300 F (150 C). Then let's add our sugar, butter, and honey into a sauce pot/pan. Sugar, butter, and honey is one of the most amazing combinations ever. haha. :)

Step 3: Heat and Melt

Next place the sauce pan on the burner at medium low heat. Then melt and stir the ingredients, until the mixture starts to bubble and get foamy/frothy. We really just want the white granulated sugar to melt, so we don't taste the sugar crystals.

Step 4: Mix and Coat

Now we take the pan off the burner and add in our corn flakes. Using a spoon stir and mix the corn flakes around to make sure they get nice and coated with that yummy butter, honey and sugar mixture.

Step 5: Fill and Bake

Next line a muffin pan with paper cups and then using a spoon fill each one of them up. You want to work fairly quickly so the treat doesn't set in the pot. You don't have to be super fast, just don't walk away from it and do something else then come back to it, haha. Now just pop them in the oven and bake them at 350 F/150 C for 10 minutes.

Step 6: Cool and Eat

After taking them out of the oven let them cool completely before diving into them. I dare you to eat just one...I know I can't. :) Your kids will love these! Enjoy! :)
