Intro: Hot Coffee Milk

Warm up with a richer, smoother coffee on that cold day by using all milk instead of water. I got this idea from a plumber who helped us with our drains.

STEP 1: Fill Your Cup With Milk

Get out your favorite coffee cup and fill it up with milk instead of water.

STEP 2: Heat in Microwave

Place the cup of milk in the microwave for about 1 minute 45 sec. Make it good and hot!

STEP 3: Add the Instant Coffee

Put in a good heaping teaspoon of your favorite instant coffee.

STEP 4: Add Sugar

Add a good heaping teaspoon of sugar. You can substitute brown sugar for a heartier taste.

STEP 5: Add Cinnamon

Add a sprinkle of cinnamon for that extra touch of taste. Or top with marshmallows, whipped cream. Its a good hearty drink supplying energy for challenging that cold day outside.

Ten years later I am here to tell you that it sounds much better without coffee syrup (gosh that sounds like cough syrup). I just like my instant coffee mixed with hot milk and sugar. This other stuff with syrup has me mystified.
Interesting, something I never knew. Amazon.com has the syrup.

This basically the "Cafe Au Lait" that I grew up with. Popular in France.

Hold the cinnamon and add a shot or 3 of Jack for cold mornings before hunting.

well add some creme too it would taste good

In India, this type of milk coffee is very, very common. Instead of cinnamon, nutmeg powder can also be used.

Try it with a teaspoon of molasses added. Tastes great!

I like a mug of hot chocolate made with milk with a teaspoon of instant coffee stirred in on a cold day, and by an amazing coincidence, had just finished one a couple of seconds before clicking on this Instructable.
In the US Navy, we called that Hobo Mocha.
When I was making this instructable, I needed to make another cup for the cover photo because I drank up the first one!
