Hot Glue Solder

Ever need solder in a hurry? You need a hot glue gun!!!

For this Hot Hot Glue Gun project you will need a:

Hot Glue Gun (duh)

Wire Strippers

Wire

Multi Meter (Optional)

Step 1: STRIP THE WIRE

Use your wire strippers to strip 1.5 cm off the ends of the wires.

Step 2: JOIN THEM UP

Wrap the wires around each other so they are touching.

Step 3: GLUE IT

Glue around the wire to hold connection together.

Step 4: THE FINISHED PRODUCT

The finished product should look like this.

Use a Multi Meter on resistance setting. if it says 1 it failed if it says 0.00 you did it!!

How reliable are these joints ? I would expect them to fail fairly soon through oxidation of the copper.

In my testing I have found that the joins are waterproof but to combat any oxidization, you can use head shrink tape or sleeves to reinforce the join. You can also glue the heck out of the wire.

keeping the glue close to the wires can help with waterproofing, if necessary.
