Introduction: House

Learn how to make an animated modeled house :)

Step 1: Rooms/foundation

first, open 3d max and make the foundation of your house. then create all the rooms. do this by adding planes and boxes. This is important because you need to be sure that your house has a foundation before you continue.

Step 2: Kitchen

Next, make the kitchen. You can designate an area for your kitchen by using a checkered material for the floor. do this by going to materials, standard > checkerboard > diffuse color > apply to selected > show in frame. Once you have the floor, create cabinets. these can be made by using boxes, and then edited in order to make them have more dimension. The stove, fridge, and island are added the same way.

Step 3: Bedroom

After the kitchen, create the bedroom. this is important so that the house has a bedroom. create the closet and dresser the same way as the cabinets. Then for the bed, create a box, extrude the headboard, and area at the feet. smooth the mesh and extrude the "body" of the bed to make it look like a blanket. (detach it so it can be different colors, and not smooth the bedframe) then add pillows and smooth the mesh. create a different floor color the same way as we did in the kitchen, just choose a different map.

Step 4: Bathroom

After the bedroom is created, create the bathroom. create the bathroom floor the same way we did for the kitchen. add a sink using a box, and editing the mesh for details. to create the toilet, make a cylinder and a box and attach them. then use the edit mesh option to create details. for the shower, create super skinny boxes and arrange them to make them look like poles surrounding a glass shower.

Step 5: Living Room

to make the living room you need to make a couch, chair, and television. to make the chair, make a box, and extrude the back and sides to look like a couch. Then smooth mesh. clone the couch and make it smaller in order to make the chair. to make the TV make a box for the stand, and then add another one on top for the actual TV. Then add appropriate materials for coloring.

Step 6: Dinning Room

For the final room, create a table and chairs by using a box and then extruding the legs. (for the chairs, clone each one so you don't need to make them twice) add silverware and plates by adding boxes or spheres and editing the mesh (for the plates use soft selection.)

Step 7: Doors

To make the doors, make a cylinder and a rectange. attach the rectangle's rotation point to the cylinder so that the doors can open and close like a door.

Step 8: Animation

For the last step, create an animated walkthrough of the house. add a camera from your sidebar, and continue to animate like normal.
