Introduction: How to Beat a Netflix Addiction

A Netflix addiction is bad. It can cause you to loose sleep and puts you in a bad mood all the time. Many peoples suffer from this, don't get me wrong Netflix is great.
Fortunately to get over the addiction you don't have to go cold turkey, I'm talking about not staying up late watching Netflix, not making it what you do with the majority of your time.
It's hard, but you'll feel so much better!

Step 1: Set Goals

First figure out when you want to stop watching Netflix during the day, is it an hour before bed? At 10 o'clock?
I put my phone away completely when I get into bed for the night.

Step 2: Find a Substitute

If you're like me and need to do something before you go to sleep then find a substitute, I read. Though this occasionally results in staying up too reading.
Other substitutes can be knitting, crocheting, anything relaxing you can do in bed. You could meditate and even keep a diary. I sometimes write in a diary because I have a busy mind. If this interests you I've found that on nights I write I remember my dreams.

*don't use your phone or other devices, I wouldn't recommend anything you'd complete start to finish in one night

Step 3: Don't Reward Yourself

It will seem very tempting to reward yourself by just watching a little before bed. DONT it won't just be a little and then you'll be right back to where you started. It's hard but when I'm tempted I tell myself, "I'll regret it, I'll feel awful, I'll just read"
Trust me never reward yourself with watching Netflix, reward yourself with something that won't result in insomnia.

Step 4: CONGRATS!!!!

I hope this has been helpful, Netflix is a really awesome but can result in insomnia. Insomnia will make you feel awful, sleep is good, you need sleep.
Congrats on beginning the road to reasonable Netflix hours.:D
