Introduction: How to Build a Fully Automated Hydroponic Toilet Garden

This Instructable will show you how to make a toilet garden that is fully automated.

This project also involves hydroponic gardening.

And the best part is its completley automatic, never water your plants again!!!!!

Step 1: Materials

You Will Need:

Plastic Dish with a lid

Scissors

Knife

Hardening Silicone

Sharpie

10-20 feet SMALL Flexable  Tubing

Step 2: Cutting the Tubing Holes

You will need to drill two holes into the plastic container. make sure to drill with a bit smaller than the hose so it seals.

See Picture Below For More Detail.

THIS IS THE MOST DETAILED STEP!!!!

The input (I) needs to be slightley above the drain (D) and the drain needs to be close to even with the bottom of the container.

Step 3: PLACING AND SEALING THE TUBING

You will need to look inside your toilet to find what is inout for water during the flush this may vary by toilet.

Take the existing tubing off and replace with the hoseing in the materials list.

Then plug the tubing in the holes you drilled to the input (I) on the container.

TIP:
make sure that the tubing that you plug into the toilet output is the same size and the inpu onto the container!!!!

Step 4: Attaching the Drain

Take another peice of the small tubing and push it into the Drain (D) hole in the bottom of the container.

Make sure that you run this back into the toilet bowl.  (The One On Top)

Step 5: SEAL SEAL SEAL SEAL

If you dont have a good seal on your tubing apply some of silicone onto the contsiner where the tubing is applyed.

Step 6: Cutting the Plant's Hole

In this step you will need to cut out the hole for your plant. if you want you can just use another container with a lot of holes in it but i strongly dont recoment this. ( I am only doing this for domonstrational porposes)

Place your plant on the top of the lid of the container, begin to go around it with the marker.

After you are done witht applying the marker begin to slowly cut the lid.

Then sillicone your container to the lid.

TIP:
make sure that your container or plant is elevated about 1/4 in above the bottom

Step 7: Final Attachmants

http://youtu.be/vjPxhoQqTTIAttach the lid to the container and fill with either hydroponic expanded clay, or a hydoponic material, but if you need to you can put soil in the container.

and your done!!!!

TIP:
you may need to adjust your water flow on the toilet you have selected to use for this project.
