Impressive, a very well made video, and an interesting project, One suggestion, put a "sprue" on the end of what you cast; that might help you get the end cast. You can estimate the amount of material you need to cast by putting the form in a container --- filling with sand to a known volume --- then removing the form. The difference is the amount of casting material needed. --- you will probably need to add some extra for the sprue and loss. .
