Intro: How to Clean a Bunny Hutch!

Hi! I have a pet rabbit, named Mac. He may be a dwarf rabbit, but what he does to his hutch is a big deal! So if you have a rabbit who enjoys making his hutch dirty, I'm here to help!

STEP 1: What You Need!

Before you start, make sure you have the following-

* A bag of hay ( I filled that box with hay ) - you can buy this at any pet store .

* A pair of gloves - some you would not mind getting covered in droppings!

* Plastic bags - for the droppings!

If you want to do a extreme clean, you may want a bucket of warm water and a sponge, but I'm just doing a quick clean.

STEP 2: Getting Started

First, put your gloves on and make sure they fit. Then, you should remove your rabbit from it's hutch, mine often jumps back in, so I clip on its lead and tie him to something. But you may let yours roam.

STEP 3: The Hard Part!

Now, your all set to clean the hutch and scoop out the old hay and droppings - not my favourite thing to do! Prop the hutch door open, or get someone to hold it for you.

Now scoop as much hay as you can into your grasp, and put it into the plastic bag. Then tie the plastic bag shut and put it in the rubbish bin.

STEP 4: Put the Hay In

Grab chunks of the hay and put them in the hutch. Then you need to spread the hay out, but the rabbit does this when he runs around the hutch, so don't take too long on this.

It's a 99% chance hay will spill all over the ground! So you may need to clean it up.

STEP 5: Finished!

Well done! You finally cleaned the hutch! My rabbit loves jumping around in a nice, clean hutch! Hay does make them thirsty though when they eat it, so make sure your rabbit has some water to drink!

Oh, I did not capture the whole pen in the photo. It is two storied, and has 3 rooms. The top floor is very roomy! :)
