Yeah not all cars with mice in them are due to a food source. Where I work I had a car come in with weird electrical problems. The car was very clean but a rodent had still made 9 nest and eaten into the body harness

Howard u getting mice in your new car? A great way to keep them out is don't leave fast food bags in them. Even in buildings u take away a food source they will leave. Teens and young adults put ur phone down and throw clean ur car and house.

Mice could find a way into your car just for the warmth. The food source could be your trash cans that are a few feet away. There does not need to be fast food bags to attract mice to your car. With that said, I am sure that is the cause in many cases... but not always.
