Introduction: How to Make a Big Fancy House in Minecraft
Before we begin, I would like to warn you that this is just a general guide to house building, I will not give exact proportions as some people want a different kind of house.
WARNING: This guide is made fore Minecraft 1.8. Other versions may be used, but you will not have the same results. Particularly with doors.
Now let's get building!
Step 1: Step 1: Build the Frame
Picture 1: Build a few squares/rectangles. You do not have to build it in this way, but this is the template I am using.
Picture 2: Remove the walls to make it one shape.
Picture 3: Build the walls up to about 4-5 blocks high.
Picture 4: Build the wall layouts for your rooms. As you can see, they do not have to be square.
Picture 5: Make the floor patterns for the seprate rooms.
Step 2: Step 2: Decorating the Bottom Floor
Picture 1: Decorate the entrance outside with flowers, bushes and a gravel path.
Picture 2: Table made of carpets on top of tripwire to make it fly.
Picture 3: Zoom in on underneath table
Pictures 4&5: TV area
Picture 6: Hangout
Picture 7: Entrance. Note the open gate as coat hangers
Pictures 8-10: Kitchen. Note Open gates again as wine rack
Picture 11: Bathroom.
Picture 12: Showing how Iron Trapdoor stays open
Picture 13: Bed/Hobby room. Note Banner as easel and pot as coffee cup
Picture 14: Bottom Floor overview
Picture 15: Build Up walls between rooms
Step 3: Step 3: Top Floor and Roof
Step 1: Fill In The Top Except For A Small Area.
Step 2: Add A Balcony
Step 3: Make The Template for the roof and a window/door
Step 4: Build Up The Roof All Around.
Step 5: Fill The Top Of The Roof. Note How I Added A Chimney.
Step 6: Light Up Under The Balcony
Step 4: Step 4: Furnishing Up
Step 1: Add Windows For Light
Step 2: 'Nother Look at the kitchen to show the lighting
Step 3: Higher View
Step 4: Guest Room
Step 5: Living Area
Step 6: Stash of Random Crap
Step 5: Step 5: Touch Ups
Steps 1-2: Cover The Quartz With Granite to look like an AC
Steps 3-4: Cover The Redstone Torch With Stone To Look Like A Rock Outside
Step 6: Step 6: You're Done!

Not a bad house, however, I think it looks better with more windows and wood logs replacing the corners on the outside of the house, and making it two stories tall. Just my opinion :)

Also, I really like the oak log checkered floor design. Thinking about using it when I decide to build my massive jungle base :D
