Introduction: How to Make a Single Bracelet on the Rainbow Loom and a Custom Charm

One day I looked around at all of my friends, and they all had techno-color, rubber bracelets going up to AT LEAST their elbows. I looked at my friends and said, "Why do you have so many bracelets on?" They responded with, "We made them ourselves!" While that didn't answer my question, I needed to know how they made those bracelets! I eventually figured out that they used a device called the Rainbow Loom, so I went out and bought my own. As I figured out how to make them, I realized people don't have charms on theirs! So instead of spending five bucks on a pack of 3 charms, I made my own.

Step 1: Supplies

To make a single bracelet with a custom charm you will need...

For the bracelet
-Two or three different color bands
-Rainbow Loom
-Rainbow Loom hook

For the charm
-Paper
-Pencil
-Colored pencils
-Hot glue
-One Rainbow Loom band
-Tape
-Scissors

Step 2: Quite Charming

First, take your paper and draw a small picture (preferably something that matches the color of your bracelet, I chose Queen Chrysalis from My Little Pony). Then, color in the picture and cut it out. To make your charm water-proof, cover it in tape. Next, take your hot glue and glue the one band to the back of the charm so it sticks off of the paper a bit.

Step 3: Looming

For the bracelet part, put your first color band where the first red arrow is and connect a second band over the first and onto a peg diagonal to the first. Do this until you reach the end of the loom.

Step 4: Keep on Loomin'

This is the trickiest step. Flip the loom around so the red arrow is pointing AWAY from you. Then, take your hook and lift up the band that is under the second one, over the other. Pull it over to the diagonal loom. Go about 7 in and then stop.

Step 5: What a Charming Bracelet

To attach the charm, pick up one of the bands like you have been doing, but instead of putting it right onto the peg, loop it through the band on the charm. NOW you can put it on the peg. Continue regularly looping the bands until you reach the end.

Step 6: DONE!

Finally, just carefully detach the bracelet from the pegs. Now you have your own custom charm bracelet!
