Intro: How to Make an Avatar

This Instructable will teach you how to make an avatar for different uses.

All you need is an computer, the paint program, and one or two pictures.

Maybe you can download some from google.

At least that's where I got mine...

STEP 1: Step 1: Main Object

To make an avatar you need to have a picture.

In that picture you need to pick out a certain item in the picture.

First you need to zoom in on the picture.

Then, using paint you need to use the square cut out item and cut it out.

Next, you right click inside the cut out and press "copy."

STEP 2: Step 2: Cut, Cut, and More Cut!

This is the hardest part of the project...

Now you need to click on edit, and then "paste," and move it into the middle of the screen.

In this step you need to cut around the object until it's just the item...

Please look at the pictures, I have a ton.

STEP 3: Step 3: Almost Done!

Now for the first part of the step, you need cut a square around your object, and then right click and press "copy."

Then open a new paint and click on "edit," and "paste."

Next, move it to the middle of the screen and then go to custom colors.

Choose a good background color if you're not happy with white.

Then add your username. (this is optional)

STEP 4: Step 4: One Last Thing...

Now the last thing you need to do is cut it down so it is a square.

Then load it up on wherever and you're done.

The picture is without the username.

Sorry about the quality.

And I have one more way to show you, so check the next step.

STEP 5: Step 5: Pivot It!

In the last few steps I will show you how to make an animated avatar with Pivot Stickfigure Animator.

You can download it here. http://files.filefront.com/Pivot+3+beta/;11532325;/fileinfo.html

This Instructable will not teach you how to animate it, but it will teach you how to start, and complete it.

If you want to learn how to animate with pivot, then check this https://www.instructables.com/id/Simple-FREE-Flash-Animation-Pivot-Animation/ Instructable out.

STEP 6: Step 6: Getting the Height and Width Right

First you start up Pivot, and click on options.

Then you need to type in, Width: 505, Height: 425

This may not look the right size, but when you load a Pivot gif file, onto anything, it compresses it so it looks blurry.

Now you can add a background if you want one, just click on "file," and then "load background."

Then you need to click "no."

STEP 7: Step 7: Animate

Now you need to animate your stick figure, or stickfigures.

You can make new types of stickfigures by clicking on "file," and then "create figure type."

Or you can load new figures with "load figure type."

And make sure you try to make the animation end at, or near, the point where it started.

STEP 8: Step 8: Saving

Now you need to save your animation by clicking on "file," and then, "save animation."

Then you need to change the file to .gif.

STEP 9: Step 9: Done!

Now you have an animated avatar!

I removed my own comments, because as the Instructable was updated they were no longer relevant. L
Yea. That's the JPG compression making it look bad? (save as BMP instead) (Forgive me for being picky, but it's not square - I assume this is for the Burning Questions 7?) L
