Intro: How to Make an Old Fashioned Oompa Loompa Costume

Have you ever wanted to make a homemade costume without paying for a very expensive costume, that is pre-made and looks beyond cheesy? Well, it will indeed cost money to make this costume, but it doesn't have the same insane price. With this instructabe will get an idea about making homade costumes in general, and specifically how to make an old fashioned oompah loompa costume! Are you ready?

STEP 1: Getting the Materials:

For this costume you will need the following items:
Orange Face Paint
White Face Paint
White Gloves
A Green Wig (Or a black wig with green hair spray)
A Brown Turtle-Neck
Surgical Tape
Suspenders (White or Khaki)
White Scrubs
Long Brown Socks
And if you're going trick or treating:
A Pillow Case that says: Sugar- Because oompa loompas help make the candy.

STEP 2: First Things First: How to Form the Costume

First, form the basic things together:
Shirt
Scrubs
Gloves
Socks
Suspenders
Surgical Tape

The first thing you do is get the shirt and surgical tape. On the neck of the turtle neck, tape a few vertical lines for the stripes. Do the same with the end of your sleeves. You have your oompa loompa shirt!

Next put your white gloves on. That's it. You don't have to do anything with them, either.

After that, whip on your suspenders, and your set from the waist to your shoulders!

The next step is easy. When you're getting the costume on, put the scrubs on and tuck your shirt into them. You don't have to do anything with them but that!

The last step is to put the socks up to your knees, and to tuck the pants into them. You can also make horizontal or verticalĀ  lines going around your socks too. And there you have it! The basics!

STEP 3: If You Did That... Black Wig and Green Hair Spray.

If you decided to get a black wig with green hair spry, its as easy as this: If you, cut it down to the neckĀ  with scissors. Through a bobby pin in there, and spray it green!
THAT SIMPLE!

We're are almost there!

STEP 4: Face Paint

If you got face paint, all you have to do is paint your whole face and maybe your neck dark orange.
Then, over that, paint yourself some white eyebrows. AND YOU'RE DONE!!!!!!!!!

Ha! My hall did this my freshman year of college! Excellent job :)
Pretty awesome, my only suggestion would be to use a brighter orange. I don't know if the dark orange is closer to the original, but it's awfully close to "blackface" which might offend some.
