Introduction: How to Make Burlap Flowers

The flowers shown can be created quite simply and without the usual mess or frustratino that accompanies sewing or gluing things together. Instead, we will be using only a wire to hold the pieces of fabric together and to make the stem.

Supplies needed:

Burlap
Flower Pattern
Regular Fabric
Wire
Pen or market for tracing flower shapes onto fabric
Beads

Step 1: Cut Out Flower Shape From Your Pattern

After cutting out a flower, trace out a shape of the flower onto your fabrics. You will want both of your fabrics to be a little larger than the size of the flower that you cut out that will be used as a centerpiece.

Step 2: Get Your Wire Ready

This will be used for the "stem" of the flower. Make sure that the wire is 2x the length of the stem as you will be folding it over. Place the bead in the center and then fold the wires over it, putting it in place.

Step 3: Putting the Flower Together

Take the three pieces you have made (the centerpiece, the flower shaped regular fabric and the burlap) and string them onto the wire. Depending on how you want the flower to look you will have to cut out enogh pieces of each. Make sure that all of the pieces of fabric and the centerpiece are at the center next to the bead.

Step 4: Finishing Up

Twist the two wires together along the length of the stem so that you have one single, solitary stem at the end.

Step 5: You're Done!

Your flower should not look something like this photo.
