Plantain Tamales Plantain Meat Pockets Pasteles En Hoja. It is a well known dish in the Caribbean islands.
all the ingredients are going to depend on how many you want to do with this list you are able to do from 20-25 depending on how thick you want to make them.
ingredients
- 5 green bannanas
- 3 green plantains
- 2 small white taro (malanga, yautia)
- 2 small yellow taro (malanga, yautia) or pumpkin
- milk
- salt
- plantain leaves

Tamales are made with corn flour. These are Puertorrican pasteles! I love them full of pork meat but if someone dares to offer me some with raisins, that person is no longer my friend! I don't like raisins in my pasteles!

Yep they are pasteles but no real translation for the name in english so had to go with all 3 bunched together a Frankenstein . LOL. Raisins. LOL

I lived in Puerto Rico when I was younger, and loved pasteles. I haven't had one for years, but I can almost taste them by seeing this. Need to make some!! :)
