Intro: How to Make a Bike Trailer Out of a Wagon

This Instructable will show you how to Make an ordinary wagon into a bike trailer.

STEP 1: Tools Needed

For this Project You need:
A wagon
A bike
Metal you Can drill (I used Matal from an old Bike frame)
Flat head screwdriver
Drill press
Normal drill (optional)
Bungeecords (optional)
Flags (optional)
Hacksaw ( you may need it)

STEP 2: The Hitch

For My hitch i used a 12.5 inch aluminum pipe with holes the size of my bike bolts drilled in each side. Only 1 side of My pipe was flatted so I had to flatten the other side with a vise. But that depends on if your pipe is flattened. After you have your pipe all flattened out and drilled, attach the hitch to the back bolt on your bike.

STEP 3: Preparing the Wagon

To get your wagon trailer- ready:
1st you might need to take of the handle.
2nd I recommend you drill holes for bungee cords on the sides of the wagon.
3rd I also think the trailer looks cool and is more obvious to cars when you put some flags in the back so... If i were you i would drill holes for flags in the back to.
4th I had to cut a small piece of my wagon off with a hacksaw... if something is bumping the tire you might want to try  cutting it.

(all these drilling recomendations are for plastic wagons only. I have never made one with a metal wagon, though you could probrably improvise to get the bungee cords on there)

STEP 4: Hooking Up the Wagon

I cant say for you guys but for me all I had to do is take a pin out and slide it throughthe hole in the hitch back into its original placing.

STEP 5: Enjoy Your New Trailer

I hoped this helped!! I mostly wanted to get the idea out there so you can improvise to cutomize it for yourself. This trailer has many uses for me i will use it on trash day to go pickin', and i will also use it for fishing.

Can you please post photos of how you attached the handle to your bike? Where to get pins/ any attachments needeed? I would like to make this project with my son but I'm very savvy in the garage. He loves pulling his metal dump truck behind his bike but yesterday, it flipped over. The new RC car he was carting around flew out and the tire broke :( He needs a better way to pull stuff around the neighborhood. Any suggestions are much appreciated!!
I'm wanting the same thing..i don't get how it attaches

Im gonna bungie cord mine to my bike :D
