Introduction: How to Make a Paint Animation.
Have you ever wanted to make simple, easy animations? Unsure how to use programs like Flash, and Photoshop? Well I've got the solution for you! Paint! A default program that comes with your software. Easy to use. And I will be showing you how to make your own animations.
Step 1: Getting Started
To get started, you'll need to open the program 'Paint'. You can find it using the 'Search program and files' bar.
Step 2: Starting Point.
For a paint animation, you can animate anything really, but you need a starting point. In this instructable, I just used a quick sketch of some imaginary character.
Step 3: Onionskin: Part 1
There's a special method to making an animation. After you save your first picture, colour your previously drawn character a light grey colour, this will create an onionskin for your animation.
Step 4: Onionskin: Part 2.
The next step to onionskin is after drawing your next pose, fill everything in that touches the onionskin of the last 'frame' with the same colour, with the 'fill' tool. After you do this, fill in the grey spots with white, and you'll have a clean 'frame' to save.
Step 5: 'Flipping' the Frame.
Now flipping the frame isn't necessary, but it works none the less. When you feel like your character, or whatever you use needs to be turned around, you can flip the frame vertically. After you flip it, you can move it into place.
Step 6: Editing Software.
Now that you're done with all your pictures or 'frames' you're ready to make it into an animation. What you want to do is open an editing software of some sort, in this case, Windows Movie Maker, and import all your pictures.
Step 7: Animation.
Now that you've imported your pictures, you want to drag them to your timeline and zoom in all the way with the magnifying glass with the plus sign in it. Next you want to make your image as small as possible. You can do this by clicking on the slide when it has the red double sided arrow and dragging it as far as possible to the left.
Next to make it less choppy, right click on the slide, and go to video affects. Scroll to the bottom of the list, an click on 'Speed Up, Double' then click 'Add >>' and then 'Ok'. After this you should be good to upload it to Youtube. :)
