Intro: How to Fix the R4 MicroSD Adapter

So you bought an R4 for your DS and the microSD adapter doesn't work. You probably don't want to send it back to hong kong. Here's an easy fix.

I decided to make an instructable about 4 months after I made the project, so I took the picture with the r4, adapter and ds from John Bobosh.

STEP 1: Parts

You will need:

a saw
duct tape

STEP 2: Open Up the Adapter

I couldn't open it by hand, so I used a saw and removed the part, where you insert the microSD. Be careful not to cut off the metal inside. I somehow opened it by pushing and pulling the usb and microSD part.

STEP 3: Find the Problem

The problem is probably the part, that holds the card in place. Mine just fell off, when I opened it.

STEP 4: Repair

Place the metal, that holds the card, over the socket. You will notice that it almost snaps into place.
Now use duct tape to tape the board and the plate together.

STEP 5: Use It

You can already use it. You could use more duct tape to protect it.

not realy, a roll of duct tape costs like $12

Here in germany ten rolls of Duck Tape cost around 5 bucks ;)

You wouldn't use the whole roll >.> It could cost less than 10 cents, depending on how mush you use. You can use your neighbour's duct tape and he wouldn't care.

I received my R4i sdhc card last week, and the package also includes a USB card reader like yours, it is working fine so far, thanks for your guide, useful, i will need it in future. I just want to buy r4i sdhc 3ds later, another reader, the reader is very cheap but a must have for our sd card.

micro sd card adapter is not expensive, why not buy a new one for your R4i SDHC 3DS

i got my r4i gold rts card for my new 3ds xl from Thegamerdepot, everything worked out just fine. i couldn't be happier with this card, it works flawlessly on my 3ds console.

Seriously can someone help me? All my things for connecting my micro sd to the comp is damaged and there is a gam  am so looking foward to playing. And The prob isn the metal thingy
