Step 2: Tools Used:

  • 8.5cm Cookie Cutter
  • 20cm Cake Tin or a bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • Flour for dusting
  • Various Christmas themed cookie cutters
  • Royal Icing

Step 3: Royal Icing:

  • 1 Egg White (small-medium egg)
  • 150g Icing Sugar

Beat the egg whites until fluffy (not stiff or white, just fluffy). Sift in the icing sugar and mix until smooth. It should be quite thick.

Now divide this into 3 bowls.

Bowl 1 = For Gluing – 2 tablespoons (this will act as your glue, if you think it’s not thick enough, add some more icing sugar).

Bowl 2 = For Spreading the icing over the cookies – 4-5 tablespoons (thin it with some lemon juice – it should be runny but not too much)

Bowl 3 = For outlining & decorating the cookies & wreath – the rest of the icing

Use clean plastic or ziplock bags for spreading and decorating. The one for spreading will have larger hole, the one for decorating should have smaller hole.

Make sure the cookies are completely cool before decorating.
