Introduction: How to Boost Your FPS in Minecraft 1.12.2

Hey, today I want to show you a simple way that you can greatly increase the FPS(frames per second) in Minecraft 1.12.2.

Step 1: Installing Minecraft Forge

To install and benefit from a significant increase FPS in Minecraft, you have to install Minecraft Forge (this mod will let you install other mods in the game).

Step 2: Download Optifine

Optifine is the mod that will increase your FPS in Minecraft, but will get others functions(shaders support, HD resource pack support) from this mods.

Step 3: Installing the Optifine Mod

This mod is installing very easy and fast, all you have to do is:

  1. Press the Windows + R on your keyboard.
  2. In the Run, you will type: %appdata%/.minecraft/mods
  3. Move the Optifine Mod jar file to mods folder.

Step 4: Open Minecraft With Forge Profile

Now, you will have to open the Minecraft launcher with Forge profile.

Step 5: Optifine Settings

Now if you have done all the steps well, in Minecraft -> Options -> Video Settings you will have a list with many settings you can do.

Here are the best settings for Optifine in Minecraft 1.12.2:

  • Render Distance: 4 Short
  • Graphics: Fast
  • Smooth Lighting: None
  • Smooth Lighting Level: 0%
  • View Bobbing: On or off (Can stay on if you like it on)
  • Brightness: 50%
  • Alternate Blocks: on
  • Fog: Off

Quality:

  • Clear Water: Off
  • Better Grass: Off
  • Custom Fonts: Off
  • Details:
  • Trees: Fast
  • Sky: Off
  • Clouds: Fast / Off (for more fps off)

Animation Settings:

  • Choose all OFF
