Introduction: How to Build a Working Lego Glass Elevator With Sliding Doors!

I like playing with lego and I like elevator rides, so I decided to make a Lego Elevator. There is lots of types of elevators you can create. Everyone will be jealous. Here is the guide for you. Or you can watch this video.

Supplies

  • Lego
  • String (If your tower is 9 floors, tie two pieces together) (If only 5 or 6 floors tall, only one)
  • Hook
  • Power Functions motor/Battery box

Step 1: Elevator Shaft

  • Take a lego base that is 16x16. Take a lego piece that is 1x4, a piece that is 1x6, a piece that is 1x8, a 1x10, and 2 1x1 pieces. And place it into the shape that is shown on the first image.
  • Take 6 1x2 tiles and a 1x3 plate. Then place the 1x3 plate on the left side and the 1x2 tiles down as a line horizontally. The last one goes vertically. Now tile it, but leave a 1x4 gap in the right side small gap.
  • Add a 1x2x5 brick and then start adding the glass. Next, fill up the 1x4 space 6 bits high. You can make it whatever colour you want your building to be. Repeat it on the 1x4 space that was left from the tiling. Now stack a couple of 1x4 plates on top of each other and put it right at the 1x3 plate from the 2nd step. Now get another 1x2x5 piece and put it on the left side of the 1x4 plates on the left side. Now take 2 1x2 pieces and stack them on each other, or take a 2x2 piece. Then, stack a snot brick in the middle. And you can add an elevator button which is a 1x2 circle piece and add a piece with an up arrow and put it on the left to detail it, then put it on the right side of the 1x4 plates on the left side.
  • To build the sliding elevator door, get a 1x6 plate, 3 1x2x5 bricks, another 1x6 plate, and smooth it with 2 tiles. Then you can just put it next to the elevator button and touching the wall in the 1x4 gap on the right side.
  • To build the top part which holds the elevator door in place, The pieces that you need to build it is in the 3rd image. Go back to the introduction and watch the video how to build it. Then, attach it how it is in the 4th image. Now you'll need a bunch of 1x2 bricks to put on top of this section. Then you'll need a 1x1 glass brick. Then you'll put it on the little gap left from your building.
  • Add tiles to the top and then add a 1x2 plate so you can attach the next floor. For the next floor, it is the same as the 1st floor, only there is a gap at where the elevator is.

Step 2: Elevator

  • Take a lego plate that is 8x6. Then, take 4 1x2 pieces and 2 1x8 pieces. Attach the 1x8 pieces on the 8-side of the 8x6, and 2 1x2 pieces on the center of the 6-side. Next, take 3 glass panels and place them After, stack 2 bricks on top of each other, then place a 1x1 snot brick, then a 1x1 real brick and 2 more 1x2 bricks. And for the elevator buttons, you can just use a phone piece since it has numbers. Then attach it on the left side. On the top of the elevator, you'll need to add plates. Now add tiles, but make sure some are plates. Now, for the roof, these are the pieces you need for the roof in the 2nd image. Watch the video from the intro to see how to build it.
  • Now get some string and take off the top piece and put the string in the middle hole and put the hook in the hole.

Step 3: Gearbox

The 1st image has the pieces you need. Get your power functions motor and battery box. Watch the video from the intro to see how to make it. You can also place it on top of a shelter. You can even put a roof on top.

Step 4: Final Product

Attach it to the elevator shaft. Test it.

Step 5: Enjoy!

Have fun with your Lego Elevator.
