Introduction: How to Clean Apple Ear Pods.

About: how to make, how to build, how to do it yourself, create, invent

Here's an easy way to clean your Apple ear pods with stuff you already have in your dorm or house. It will take 5 minutes and they will work like new when your finished!! No special tools! You can use this method time and time again whenever they get dirty!

Things you'll need

1) 1/2 cup of water

2) 2 drops of dish soap

3) tooth brush (you can use your daily toothbrush if you want and clean it afterwards)

4) a tissue

Step 1: Watch the Video!

You can see how easy this is to do just by watching the video!

Step 2:

First grab a 1/2 cup of water.

Step 3: Dishsoap

Add a few drops of dish soap to the water.

Step 4: Microwave It.

Pop it in the microwave on full power for 1 minute.

Step 5: Warm Up the Toothbrush

Now place your toothbrush in the hot water for about 30 seconds. Stir a bit to mix the soap. This allows the toothbrush to get nice and hot to dissolve the ear wax.

Step 6: Throughout the Cleaning, Hold the Ear Pod Downwards!

We all know about gravity. If you point the ear pod upwards like in the picture, water will naturally want to seep in so make sure throughout the cleaning you always have it pointing downwards!

Step 7: Can I Harm My Ear Pods by Doing This?

At this point you may be wondering if your expensive ear pods can get wrecked by doing this. I dismantled my own ear pods to show you whats inside and in there is a tiny speaker and it's made of plastic. If water happens to get in, it shouldn't cause any problems, but do your best to not let water in. The little black screen that you'll be cleaning is very tough and durable, scrubbing won't hurt it.

NOTE: I've read that if this little black screen is soft and delicate, it is probably an apple ear pod knock off.

Step 8: Start Cleaning!

Take the toothbrush out of the water, place it on the table, bristles pointing up, hold one of the ear pods pointing downwards and start to go back and forth to clean the ear wax. After 30 seconds or so you can start to push the ear pod down onto the bristles to get all the little strands of bristles to poke into all the little holes in your ear pod. Put the brush back in the water as many times as you want. Repeat for the other ear pod.

Step 9: Dab With the Kleenex

Once your satisfied your ear pods look clean, use the kleenex to dab any water off the ear pod.

Step 10: One Last Step.

Now bring the ear pod close to your mouth and blow hard into the little black screen you have been scrubbing to push any little bits of remaining ear wax out of the tiny holes. The good part is, you can use your ear pods immediately after cleaning!!

Step 11: Here's the Video Again.

If you missed the video at the start, here it is again!

Step 12: Finished.

When your done, they'll look and sound like new! Happy listening!!
