Follow the easy steps below or watch the short video tutorial or do both! :)

Supplies

Ingredients:

  1. 1/3 to 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels (65 to 105g)
  2. 2 Tbsp of butter or oil (26g)
  3. Skillet or pot with lid or use foil
  4. Season to taste

Step 1: Butter and Kernels and Popping!

Take a 12-inch skillet, or you can use any size, the amount of kernels needed will vary depending on the size, then add the kernels and the butter. You can use salted or unsalted butter or use oil like coconut oil, canola oil, avocado oil. Use something with a high smoke point if you are going to use oil. Ghee is also an amazing choice.

Set the burner between medium and medium-hi heat. Add the pan and add the lid.

You can also use a deep pot and cover it with foil. Just make sure to poke holes in the foil to let the steam out.

Now gently move the pan back and forth over the hot burner until the kernels pop. It will take 4 to 5 minutes or so. Once you hear only a few kernels popping every 2 seconds, remove it from the heat.

Step 2: Seasonings

Now remove the lid and pour the popcorn in a bowl. Season as desired. There are all kinds of things you can add like melted butter, salt, garlic powder, parmesan cheese, paprika, etc.

Enjoy!
