Introduction: How to Create a Marble Design on Your Nails.

Creating a marble design on your nails is long lasting and cool to look at. Painting nails with just the brush can get boring, but being able to do it in water is much more entertaining and intriguing. Here are the materials you will need:

4-5 varieties of colored nail polishes
Dixie cup filled with water
Toothpick
Scotch tape
Clear nail polish
Nail polish remover
Cotton swab
Cotton balls (or toilet paper)

Step 1: Step 1

Make sure nails are clean and do not have any previous nail polish on it. Soak a cotton ball with nail polish remover and take off all prior nail polish before continuing the next steps.

Step 2: Step 2

Fill up the dixie cup with room temperature water.

Step 3: Step 3

Take as many pieces of tape needed to cover your entire finger so that only the nail is showing.

Step 4: Step 4

Take your first desired nail polish and take the brush out of the bottle with enough product on it to have the color drip off into the dixie cup.

Step 5: Step 5

Take your second colored nail polish and do the same process as you did with the first nail polish.

Step 6: Step 6

Repeat this process with the rest of the colors until you have a puddle of layered colors on the water. *Do process 4-5 quickly because if the polishes are left in the water for too long they will dry out and won’t be easy to work with*

Step 7: Step 8

Using the toothpick, swirl a marbled pattern into the polish. When the polishes look swirled together enough, take your taped up finger and dip the nail into the swirl. Wait 5-10 seconds before taking your finger out

Step 8: Step 9

Wait 5-10 seconds to let the polish set before moving onto the next step.

Step 9: Step 10

Remove all the tape from your finger.

Step 10: Step 11

Take the cotton swab and soak it in nail polish remover and remove any excess polish from the finger.

Step 11: Step 12

Put a clear nail polish coat over the top to make sure the design won’t scratch off.

Step 12: Step 13

Repeat the dipping process for each nail, it is a tedious and time consuming process but it’s worth the results.
