Introduction: How to Crochet a Bee Keychain

Bees are very popular right now. So I decided to make my own pattern for a bee keychain. Let me know what your thoughts are and post your finished product. :) (P.s. This pattern was created by me)

Supplies

  • 4/worst weight yarn in 3 different colors (in the pictures shown, I used the traditional yellow, black, and white(I also used some pink to make blush). You can use whatever colors you want.)
  • 7-4.5 mm hook
  • stuffing/polyfill
  • tapestry needle
  • scissors
  • 10 mm black safety eyes
  • keychain loops
  • pliers



Abbreviations:

sc - Single Crochet

hdc - Half Double Crochet

st - Stitch

dec - Single Crochet Decrease

Ml - Magic Loop/Ring

6sc - six single crochets in the same stitch or loop

2sc - two single crochets in the same stitch

6hdc - six half double crochets in the same stitch

FO - Finish Off

(#) - # of stitches

[hkhk] - Important note

** - Repeat


Notes:

  • This pattern is worked in continuous rounds except for when you change colors.
  • When you change colors, you'll slst into the next st and FO. The you will pull through in a different st and sc around and slst to the 1st st. and you'll repeat.
  • When you're finish with the last color change, you'll go back to working in continuous rounds to the end

Step 1: Body: Round 1

Round 1: Ml, 6sc (6)

Step 2: Body: Round 2

Round 2: 2sc in each st (12)

Step 3: Body: Round 3

Round 3: *sc in next st, 2sc* 6x (18)

Step 4: Body: Round 4

Round 4: sc in each st (18)

Step 5: Body: Round 5

Round 5: [Change to color 2] sc in each st (18)

[place eyes between Rounds 2 and 3 5st appart. and using pink yarn, pull it through under the eyes and create the blush]

Step 6: Body: Round 6

Round 6: [Change to Color 1] sc in each st (18)

Step 7: Body: Round 7

Round 7: [Change to Color 2] sc in each st (18)

Step 8: Body: Round 8

Round 8: [Change to Color 1] sc in each st (18)

Step 9: Body: Round 9

Round 9: *sc in next st, dec* 6x (12)

[stuff Body]

Step 10: Body: Round 10

Round 10: dec in each st (6)

FO close whole and weave in ends.

Step 11: Wings : Round 1

[Using Wing Color Make 2]

Round 1: Ml, 6hdc, (6)

FO weave in magic loop end and use the other one to sew to the back

Step 12: Keychain

using both the keychain loop an pliers, attach the keychain in between the wings and secure it.

And you're done!!!!!!!!
