Intro: How to Customise a School Computer

Now when I say school computer, I mean the kind you get for a year and then have to send back. I recently acquired such a computer and tried to figure out a way to customise it in a way that I could easily put it back the way it was. This Instructable is the result of about ten minutes of brainstorming.

I apologize for the quality and quantities of pictures, my phone is the only camera I have and it threw a hissy fit so I didn't get many.

STEP 1: Stuff You Need

Scissors
A cool symbol on paper
Scotch tape*
a small piece of string

*Must be scotch, as it leaves little to no adhesive when pulled off. Also I recomend the 'invisible' gift-wrapping kind, or else yours will turn out like mine.

STEP 2: Prepare Your Symbol

Cut it out, and if you did what I did, colour it.

STEP 3: Tape It

Now heres where the string comes in, put your string on one of the corners of tape. This makes it easier for you to rip it off when you have to return the computer.

STEP 4: Ta-daa

And now you have a customized laptop.

Perhaps you should celebrate with a couple glasses of your favorite juice?

get some clear stick on vinyl cut to size of laptop put what ever images or letters you want on top of laptop stick the vinyl down and wala removable personalization

To Oroka, this is an 'on the cheap' way to do it for people who don't want to spend 20 bucks on a vinyl skin that they're probably only going to use for this one laptop. To Cycrolus, most stickers leave adhesive.
Sooooo... tape something to your laptop? How about going to one of a dozen sites that make vinyl skins for like $20, design your own, slap it on, and peel it off when you have to give the lappy back.
Or buy some cool stickers from a machine for $.50 lol.
