Embroideries and stitchings are used in a variety of ways: for fashion, daily items of clothing, and for repairing our garments. When I first started stitching, I thought it was very difficult to demonstrate different styles of stitching. And since a lot of people struggle to accomplish making embroideries, I am going to show "How to Do a Chain Stitch," in particular through this tutorial.

Supplies

Before we start learning to do a chain stitch, we need these supplies.

One pair of scissors
Sufficient amount of thread
One needle
One felt to practice

Step 1: Threading the Thread Into the Needle Hole

Threading the thread properly into the needle hole and tightening the end is one of the most important aspects to finish the embroidery with clean ends and with no failure.

First, you cut the thread to approximately 30cm.
Find one end and straighten it to make it easier to put the thread into the needle hole.
After succeeding in threading a needle, you have to make a knot at only one end.
You make a loop around your finger and put the end through it.
You tighten the loose loop and the preparation to start stitching is done!

Step 2: Making a Loop in the Felt

As the preparation to start stitching is done, we can proceed on the first step of making a loop in the felt that allows us to create the basis for the chain stitch.

Thread the needle through the felt once.
Then, thread the needle right next to the place where you have just passed through (Thread back again).
Do not straighten the thread all the way in. Instead, leave a loop and hold it with your fingers.

Step 3: Making the Second Loop

Now that we're done with making the first loop - the start, we should learn how to make the second loop so that the stitching links with the previous loop.

Now that the loop is loose we thread the needle back to the front from the back right next to the first loose loop (The threading should come out from inside the loop).
Pull out the thread and straighten it this time.

Step 4: Continue With the Loops

Continue the same process as the previous steps and you will have several loops that link together nicely.

Step 5: Final

Now, this is the end!

One thing that we should be aware of is the finishing. Now that we have threaded several loops, the needle would be facing the sharp point towards the point. From this, we make another loop just like we did in the beginning and knot the end so that the thread does not fall off from the felt.
