Introduction: How to Dye Cut Print on a Cricut

Hi, my name is Sierra. I have been drawing digital art for a while and decided to make stickers out of my drawings. Today I am going to show you how to dye cut print on Cricut. Dye cut stickers are stickers that are printed out on sticker paper and cut with a Cricut machine. I will take you through these easy steps to make dye cut stickers on Cricut.

**All of these designs are my own! Please do not steal my designs!**

Step 1: Materials Needed

The materials needed are a Cricut machine, Cricut tools, a printer, sticker paper (vinyl), and an electronic device.

Step 2: Step 1

Open up the Cricut app or go to the website and log in.

Step 3: Step 2

Click on the New Project button and it will open up a blank canvas.

Step 4: Step 3

The next step is to upload a photo/sticker design that has the background removed. (If background is there, next step can get rid of background.)

Step 5: Step 4

After selecting a photo, a prompt will pop up providing the option to remove the background and clean up the design. The top right photo will show how it will cut. Hit next in the top right corner when satisfied with the sticker.

Step 6: Step 5

This step will go to a refined cut path. If needed to smooth the cut path the Cricut machine will take. Hit next to proceed to the Print Then Cut step.

Step 7: Step 6

This step is where the sticker gets named and choose Print Then Cut. Cut Image is after the image is already saved and printed out. Save the image with the save button in top right. After saving the image it can be uploaded to the canvas by selecting it and hitting the Insert button in the bottom right corner.

Step 8: Step 7

Once the image is uploaded to the canvas, it needs to be adjusted to the desired size. There are rulers on two sides of the canvas that measure in inches. Click the Edit button to resize and move the image around. Always move the image to the left top corner and resize to preferences.

Step 9: Step 8

After resizing, hit the Actions button next to Edit and Hit the Duplicate button. This will duplicate the exact measurements of the sticker selected. Keep hitting duplicate but make sure to stay within the measurements of the sticker paper being used.

Step 10: Step 9

Hit the Make It button in the bottom right corner to proceed to the print button. It will show what it will look like on the paper and also on the Cricut mat. Hit the Print button to send it to the printer. Make sure to have the sticker paper in the printer before hitting print. It may prompt to select a printer.

Step 11: Step 10

After the stickers are printed out the next step is to set the material. I always set my material to Printable Sticker Paper because it will cut through all the way unlike the Sticker Paper, Removable.

Step 12: Step 11

It will prompt to load tools and mat. This is where the sticker paper that is printed on is put on the mat. Put the paper in the top left corner of the mat on the inches side.

Step 13: Step 12

Press the arrow button on the Cricut machine to load the mat. (Have the mat touching the rollers when pressing the the button so that it can roll the mat under.)

Step 14: Step 13

Press the C button to start cutting the stickers.

Step 15: Step 14

After the stickers are cut, peel off the sticker paper. The stickers should stay on the mat.

Step 16: Step 15

To peel off the stickers bend the mat on the edge of a table and use the flat tool to get under the sticker to lift it off the mat. By bending the mat and using that tool helps prevent the stickers from bending or curling.

Step 17: Finished!!

The stickers are done and ready to be used. If stickers are going on something that might get wet, make sure to seal your stickers. (Any clear sealant will work to prevent ink running off the vinyl.)
