Introduction: How to Easily Cut a Bell Pepper
The title says it all! Quickly cut a bell pepper and skip the seed scraping.
You'll need:
- 1 bell pepper
- 1 cutting board
- 1 sharp knife (I prefer a cook's knife or santoku knife [pictured])
Step 1: Cut the Top Off
Step 2: Pull the Seeds Out in One Clump
Step 3: Pop the Stem Off
With this method you don't waste any of the edible pepper portion.
Step 4: Chop As Desired
All prepped for a delicious dish!

I went to a cooking class where we were shown to cut the top of the pepper, remove the seed pod, make one vertical cut, and "open" the pepper in one piece. Then slide your knife straight across under the veins. Also, don't chop the peppers on the skin side, but the inside part. Less slippery.

Another way
Looks good. Separates seeds from the edible bit!
I make a circular cut 1cm deep into the skin round the stem with a paring knife, then pull out the plug containing the stem and the seeds and discard. Then rinse out any loose seeds.
Then either stuff pepper OR cut pepper lengthwise in half.
Then each half lengthwise in segments, then each segment in squares.

I do this except after I slice the bottom off then slice the "ring" open and unroll it so I can slice it easier
