Introduction: How to Get Ridiculously Rainbow Eyes
I wanted to do something outrageous, so here it is! How to get ridiculously rainbow eyes (and keep them that way, even in the heat of summer).
Step 1: Gather Materials
For this you will need:
-lots of eyeshadow colors (I have Urban Decay because someone gave it to me and it's awesome, but any brand is really fine. Personally, I like NYX which is reasonably priced and has great color choices.)
-eyeliner
-mascara
-eye shadow brush
-eye shadow primer
-cold cream or your favorite facial moisturizer
-rainbow eyelashes and eyelash adhesive (optional)
Step 2: Start With Clean Skin
Wash your face according to your usual skin care routine, or using a soap you normally use. Don't try a new skin care product for this! The last thing you want is to have a bad reaction, like a rash, right as you're trying to look awesome.
I don't have a picture for this step, sorry!
Step 3: Apply Eye Shadow Primer
In the summer, it gets really hot and people sweat which can cause makeup to run and smear. Eyeshadow primer works wonders! It's not too expensive and it's totally worth it!.
Step 4: Apply Eyeliner
Apply eyeliner in black or dark brown.
Step 5: Apply Eyeshadow
I like to start my rainbow colors at the inner corner of my eye, so that the darker colors like blue and purple are at the outer corners which will make your eyes appear larger. When applying your eyeshadow, make sure you get enough pigment on the brush. Make sure your colors are blended together adequately by using the empty brush to lightly brush over the lines between colors. Don't worry if extra eyeshadow falls onto your cheekbones. You can clean it up later.
Step 6: Clean It Up
If there is any eyeshadow that has fallen on your cheekbones or anything, take some time to use the cold cream or moisturizer to clean it up with your finger or a q-tip.
Step 7: Apply Mascara
Apply mascara to your upper and lower lashes. Even if you are you going to wear false eyelashes, a dark mascara will really make your eyes pop even more.
Step 8: Optional: Apply False Eyelashes
This step is totally optional, but I think fake lashes are really fun. The lashes I used were rainbow lashes that I customized with rhinestones. I posted another Instructable on how to customize and apply your lashes here: https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-and-apply-your-own-novelty-eyelashes/
After applying a thin line of eyelash adhesive, let it dry for about 30 seconds until it becomes tacky. Then, starting at the inner corner of your eye, apply the lashes as close to your lash line as possible. Hold in place for a moment. Touch up any makeup that got smudged while applying the lashes.
Step 9: Good to Go!
Have fun all day or all night with your awesome, rainbow eyes!

What brand of primer do you recommend?

I use Urban Decay because it came with a set of eyeshadow that I bought and I'm very happy with the result. I never even thought to use primer before I got it and always thought it was kind of a rip off but it makes a HUGE difference! It doesn't take much, so a small tube should last for a while and it's definitely worth the cost.
