How to Study a New Tarot Deck or just learn tarot for the first time... in only 5 weeks!

Step 1: Go Through the Deck Several Times

Go through the deck several times until you are familiar with all images and symbols on all cards. Take your time on this step. Look at all symbols and colors; notice all details.

Step 2: Use Your Intuition

Before reading booklet or book about the deck, use your intuition to find meanings and symbolism. Go through the deck card by card and use your intuition to determine possible meanings.

Step 3: Start With the Major Arcana

Put all the cards in order. You will study the deck suite by suite. Start with the Major Arcana.

Step 4: Study Each Card

Go through the suite card by card and study the images, symbolism, intuitive meanings, and written booklet or book meanings. NEVER dismiss your intuitive meanings. Use your intuition and the written materials to determine all possible meanings for each card of the suite.

Step 5: Test Your Memory

Remove all literature from your sight and go through the suite card by card and remember your intuitive meanings and the written meanings. If you can't remember a meaning, study the images on the card for a few minutes and move on to the next card.

Step 6: Repeat Step 4

Repeat step 4 with the same suite.

Step 7: Write Down the Meanings

Go through the suite card by card and write on blank paper or in a notebook all meanings for each card. Write both intuitive and literature meanings. You can use this later to reference if you need.
