Intro: Amazing Easy to Make Banana Bread

In this instructable, I will show you how to easily make Amazing Banana Bread. If you are like me, you go to the grocery store and buy a bunch of bananas, only to find out that you can't eat them all until they get super ripe and turn all black and gross looking. Don't be alarmed, and don't throw them away! Make banana bread with them. Follow the steps below and/or watch the video tutorial. Enjoy!

Ingredients

1 and 2/3 cups of flour - (I am using bread flour, but you can use all purpose)

1 tsp of baking soda

1/4 tsp of cinnamon

1/2 tsp of salt

1 cup of sugar

2 large eggs

1/2 cup of canola oil

3 large ripe bananas

1 tsp of vanilla extract

1/2 cup to 2/3 cup of chopped walnuts

***For a more moist bread, use an additional half of a banana and 2 Tbs of sour cream

STEP 1: Add Dry Ingredients to Flour

First let's preheat the oven to 350 Degrees F. Now lets take our salt, baking soda, and cinnamon and add it to the flour. Whisk it all together, or if you have a sifter go ahead and sift it all together.

STEP 2: Add Eggs and Sugar

In a separate bowl, let's crack open both of those eggs and add them to the bowl. Next add our sugar.

STEP 3: Mix Well

Now mix the sugar and eggs together with a whisk, or with a hand mixer if you like.

STEP 4: Add Oil and Vanilla

Next, we need to add our oil and our vanilla extract. Then we will mix that all together really well.

STEP 5: Mash Those Bananas

Next we need to mash up our bananas. You can use a meat tenderizer like me, or a fork will work just fine as well.

STEP 6: Add Bananas, Walnuts

Now let's add our bananas to the mixture, along with our walnuts. Then stir it all together.

STEP 7: Add Flour

Now we will add the flour a little at a time. Don't over mix, just enough to get all the flour mixed in.

STEP 8: Grease Up a Bread Pan

Now grease up a bread pan with spray, butter, or shortening. Then add the mixture. My pan is a 9 by 5 inch pan. You can split it up into two smaller loaves if you like as well.

STEP 9: Bake

Now put it in the oven and let it bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Check it with a toothpick. When the toothpick comes out nice and clean it is ready. Let it rest in the pan for about 10 minutes before taking it out.

STEP 10: Cost

The costs will vary depending on where you shop, what kind of deals you can get, etc. Still cheaper to make at home, doesn't take that long, and tastes fantastic!

thank you for sharing this recipe...im excited to make this

And I just made banana bread yesterday!

One cooking show host suggested toasting nuts before adding to the batter. (I forgot this time.) It alters the flavor slightly in a wonderful way.

That's a good idea, I will have to try toasting the walnuts next time, to see how I like it.

Oh, I love banana bread! This looks really tasty and fun to make. Thanks for sharing this!

You are most welcome! I love banana bread too!! Easily the bread I make the most often!
