Hii friend,

Today I am going to make a circuit of automatic street light using LM555 IC.This Circuit is working like this When Light will fall on LDR (In Day) then LED will not glow and when light will not be on the LDR then LED will glow automatically.

Let's get started,

Step 1: Materials Required

Components required -

(1.) IC - LM555 x1

(2.) LED - 3V x1

(3.) Resistor - 10K x1

(4.) Battery - 5V

(5.) LDR x1

(5.) Connecting wires

Step 2: Circuit Diagram

This is the circuit diagram of this project.

~ Connect all components according to this circuit diagram.

Step 3: Connect 10K Resistor to the IC

Firstly we have to solder a 10K resistor between pin-1 and pin-2 of LM555 IC as solder in the picture.

Step 4: Connect Jumper Wire to Pins of IC

Next connect pin-4 , pin-8 and pin-6 to each other using jumper wires as you can see in the picture.

Step 5: Connect LED

Solder +ve leg of LED to pin-3 and -ve leg of LED to pin-1 of the IC as solder in the picture.

Step 6: Connect LDR to the Circuit

Now we have to connect LDR to the circuit.

Solder leg-1 of LDR to pin-2 of IC and leg-2 of LDR to pin-8 of the IC as you can see in the picture.

Step 7: Connect 5V DC Power Supply Wire

Connect 5V DC Power supply wire to the circuit.

Connect +ve clip of Power supply to pin-8 of the IC and

-ve clip of power supply to pin-1 of the IC as you can see in the picture.

Step 8: How It Works

[1.] When light is on LDR then LED is not glowing as you can see in the picture-1.{It means LED will not glow in Day}

[2.] When light is not on the LDR then LED is glowing as you can see in the picture-2.{It means LED will glow in Night} and vice versa.

This type this automatic street light is working.
