  3. 1/2 cup Heavy whipping cream
  4. 4 large eggs
  5. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  6. 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  8. 1/4 cup melted butter
  9. Optional: 1/2 cup raisins, chocolate chips, or nuts

Tools

  1. 9×13-inch oven-safe baking dish
  2. Large mixing bowl
  3. Whisk
  4. Rubber spatula
  5. Measuring cups and spoons
  6. Oven mitts
  7. Cooling rack

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease your baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.

Step 2: Prepare the Bread

Cut the bread into 1-inch (2.5 cm) cubes. If using fresh bread, spread it on a baking sheet and toast lightly in the oven for 5–10 minutes to help it dry out.

Step 3: Make the Custard

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and brown sugar until smooth.

Step 4: Combine Bread and Custard

Add the cubed bread to the custard mixture.

Gently fold with a spatula until all pieces are coated.

Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes so the bread can soak up the liquid.

Step 5: Add Mix-Ins (Optional)

Stir in any raisins, chocolate chips, or nuts you want to include.

Step 6: Transfer to Baking Dish

Pour the soaked bread mixture into your prepared baking dish.

Drizzle melted butter evenly over the top.

Step 7: Bake

Place the baking dish in the oven.

Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 8: Cool and Serve

Remove the pudding from the oven and place it on a cooling rack.

Allow it to cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Serve warm with caramel sauce, whipped cream, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
