Introduction: How to Make ChiaGroats
ChiaGroats are a healthy, cheap, tasty breakfast that is easy to work into your morning routine. Chia seeds add fiber, protein, calcium, antioxidants, and omega-3s to your diet and Oat Groats add vitamin E, several B-vitamins, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Oats also have some of the trace minerals selenium, copper, zinc, iron, and manganese. All this adds up to a well-balanced breakfast and a good start for your day.
Step 1: Collect Ingredients and Cooking Appliances
Ingredients:
4 Tbsp Whole Oat Groats
2 tsp Whole Chia Seeds
1/3 cup Water
2 Tbsp Milk
1 tsp sugar (optional)
Frozen Fruit for topping
Appliances:
Coffee bean grinder
Microwave safe bowl
Plate
Spoon
Knife
Step 2: Combining Chia and Groats
Place chia seeds and groats into coffee grinder until mixture is of a powder consistency with minimal chunks.
Step 3: Heating
Place mixture into bowl and stir in water. Microwave for one minute on high. Remove and stir again. It should currently have a dense consistency with a thin layer of excess water. Cover with a towel and wait 15 minutes for the water to soak in fully.
Step 4: Cook Again
Remove towel and stir. Microwave for another minute on high.
Step 5: Toppings
Add sugar and fold until dissolved. Chop up fruit and fold in to add flavor and color. I prefer apples, coconut, and black raspberries. Guide substance to the middle of the bowl leaving room to make a moat of milk. Lastly....enjoy!
