Introduction: How to Make Chicken Dressing
In this instructable, I will show you how to make chicken dressing.
Step 1: Ingredients
For this recipe, you will need:
Cornbread (you can use the recipe in my last instructable)
2 chicken breast
3 pieces of toast
3 eggs
2 1/2 c chicken broth
1/2 c milk
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 1/2 tsp rubbed sage
1 tsp poultry seasoning
3 stalks of celery
8 tbsp butter & a separate 2 tbsp butter
2 onions
Step 2: Boil Chicken
Add the chicken to a pot of boiling water and cook for 30 minutes.
Step 3: The Fun Part.
In a large bowl, crumble all of the cornbread.
Break off little pieces of the toast and mix in with the cornbread crumbs.
Step 4:
Mince the celery and onions via either knife or food processor.
Step 5: Shred the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the boiling water, place in a large bowl and shred using two forks.
Step 6: Oh Sauté
Melt the 8 tbsp of butter in a skillet on medium high heat and add the onions and celery.
Sauté onions and celery for 5 minutes.
Step 7: Tis' the Seasonings
Now mix in the sage, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.
Step 8: Liquidation
In a medium bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk and mix thoroughly.
Step 9: It's All Coming Together.
Add the egg mixture to the bread mixture and stir until combined.
Step 10: Oh Broth (er)
Pour the broth in and stir until combined.
Step 11: Now for Something Else
Add the onion/celery mixture and stir until combined.
Step 12: Last Addition to the Bowl
Add the shredded chicken and mix it in thoroughly.
Step 13: Almost Show Time!
Spread out the dressing evenly in a baking dish. Rule of thumb for size, if it fits, it's okay.
Top the dish with the remaining 2 tbsp of butter that's been cut into small pieces.
Step 14: Bake!
Place in an oven that's been preheated to °350 for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 15: Enjoy!
