Introduction: How to Make Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

Because this project requires baking, it is fit for anyone above the age of 13. Chocolate chip pumpkin bread is a fun treat for a family gathering, or just a snack! This is simple recipe, though it does require carefully following instructions and is time-consuming.

Step 1: Gathering Ingredients

For this step, you need to gather your ingredients. In order to make chocolate chip pumpkin bread, you need:
1 cup all-purpose flour
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp baking powder
½ cup of butter, softened (microwave butter in 15 second intervals until soft to the touch)
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 cup of 100% pure pumpkin
¾ to 1 cup of chocolate chips, depending on personal preference

Servings: Makes one loaf of bread

Prep Time: 20 Minutes

Bake Time: 50-65 Minutes

Total Time: 1 Hour 10 Minutes to 1 Hour 25 Minutes

Step 2: Preparation

Preheat your oven to 350°, and grease an 8 by 4 loaf pan. Set aside.

Step 3: Dry Ingredients

Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder in a medium bowl. Set aside.

Step 4: Wet Ingredients

In a large bowl, beat sugar and butter on medium speed until combined. Beat in the egg, and continue to mix until the mixture is light and fluffy. Next, beat in the pumpkin (at this step, it’s ok if the mixture looks curdled and grainy).

Step 5: Combining

Beat the flour mixture into the sugar and butter mixture at low speed. Then, beat in the chocolate chips. Be sure to scrape down the side of the bowl with a spatula so no flour remains on the side.

Step 6: Baking

Pour the batter into the loaf pan, and bake for 50 minutes. You will know the bread is done when it does not sink when touched. The middle of the bread should not have a soup-like consistency.
