Introduction: How to Make Easy Biscuit Doughnuts
When I was a kid I remember mom making us these delicious quick-n-easy doughnuts from Pillsbury canned biscuit dough. She would fry them in oil then roll them around in the sugar bowl and my sisters and I would gobble them up while they were still warm.
It is one of my wonderfully delicious memories
Step 1: What You'll Need to Create Your Own Memories
Pillsbury Canned Biscuits (I like the Grand Home-style Honey Butter)
Vegetable Oil
Sugar
Step 2: Instructions
1) Heat approximately 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large pot to about 350° (or on medium heat if you don't have a cooking thermometer)
2) Pop biscuits out of can and separate them out onto a flat cutting board
3) Using a sharp knife, cut each biscuit into four equal pieces
4) Carefully place several pieces in the hot oil for about 1/2 minute per side, or until golden brown
4) Drain on a paper towel or wire rack
5) While still warm, roll them around in sugar
6) Eat while they are still warm

we did something like this as kids but we baked them. They are probably better fried. I would never have thought of it. Thanks for the idea.

agree. Just wish you could get the flavor without the doc getting upset about healthy eating habits. I guess you just keep it in moderation.

Right? It seems oil/fats make everything taste better but the waist line bigger :(

My husband wants to get an air fryer. I have my doubts. I wonder if they work on bread type things.

Interesting thought. My sister has an air fryer. Maybe she can try it out for us

I did a little research. One recipe calls for brushing the doughnut with oil before cooking and again after. I was thinking a light spray of oil might work. Let me know what your sister figures out.

ooooh , that sounds like a great idea. I do think this type of doughnut needs a bit of oil and I think the spray oil is a good choice. I'll let ya know if my sister tries this.
