Intro: How to Make Green Jello and Cottage Cheese Salad

This is my Hubby’s favorite salad, and it doesn’t matter what flavor Jello I use.  So here is how to make a Green Jello and Cottage Cheese Salad, my way.

STEP 1:

Supplies:
1 box lime Jello (you may choose any flavor you wish)
1 container whipped topping, thawed
1 16 oz. container cottage cheese
1 15 oz. can mandarin oranges, drained
1 cup mini marshmallows
Large serving bowl
Large spoon

STEP 2:

Dump the container of cottage cheese into the bowl.  Add the powdered Jello to the cottage cheese

STEP 3:

and mix well. I you don’t like the texture of the cottage cheese, get out the beaters and beat the heck out of them, making it smoother.  My Hubby likes to know that the cottage cheese is there.

STEP 4:

Mix in the drained mandarin oranges and the marshmallows.  Add the whipped topping and stir in well.

STEP 5:

Let it set in the refrigerator, for at least one hour.  Serve.

You were right, I am surprised at how it's made, no boiling water?!? It looks a lot smoother than I thought it would too. I bet it would be super easy to make a light version as well (on a diet right now but really want some haha) by switching the whipped topping for lite. This reminds me a lot of Watergate Salad but a Jello version instead of pudding. Very awesome and thank you so much for sharing.
I've had something like this before and my mind was blown when I found out it was made with cottage cheese! Just crazy, but so good!
