Intro: How to Make Ice Cream With a Rock Tumbler

I’ve been obsessed with making my own ice cream for a while, and after seeing the price of a working ice cream machine I decided to make my own.

STEP 1: Mix the Ice Cream

Mix the ingredients together in the ziplock container in this order: milk, sugar, vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp ground salt. if you want another flavor than vanilla, mix in the peanut butter, Nutella, or strawberry syrup, and screw the top of the ziplock container on tightly.

STEP 2: Prepare the Rock Tumbler

Put the container with the ice cream mix inside the rock tumbler and pour the 1/4 cup sea salt in the rock tumbler. Fill the rest of the rock tumbler with ice and screw the lid on tightly

STEP 3: Tumble the Ice Cream

Put the rock tumbler on the highest setting and tumble it for 15-20 minutes, then take the ice cream out of the rock tumbler, it should be thick with no ice chunks, if not tumble for five more minutes.

STEP 4: Eat It!

Scoop the ice cream into a small bowl, eat quickly! It melts fast!

Skip the sea salt for cooling in step 2. Wasting $$. Just get regular rock salt or
"Ice Cream Salt" (same thing, fancy name). Going to try this soon!
