Introduction: How to Make Quick Gluten-Free Pita Bread Pockets

About: I am a kid who likes organic and gluten-free cooking.

Today, we're going to make a quick and easy gluten-free nutritious meal. You can make this meal if you want to make something simple and easy which is enjoyable for the whole family.

Supplies

  • Pita Bread
  • Toaster
  • Cucumber
  • Ham
  • Lettuce
  • Cream Cheese or Gournay Cheese
  • Tomato
  • Celery
  • Avocado
  • Black Pepper
  • Salt

Step 1: Preparing the Fruits and Veggies

Take the cucumber and peel the skin (Did you know you can erase with cucumber skin?). Then dice the cucumber. Do the same for the ham. Then, take the tomatoes and slice it into slices. I don't like tomatoes, so I won't be adding any in this one. Cut, wash, and dry the lettuce, and break it in half so they can fit. Cut the celery into small slices. The celery adds a unique crunch to the pockets. Finally, cut the avocado. Take all the fruits and veggies, except the avocado and lettuce, and mix it together with the cheese. You can use the veggie and fruit waste for good compost.

Step 2: Toast the Pita Bread

Take the pita bread and cut it horizontally in half. Then toast it. The pita bread will open up in the toaster so don't try to open it up before you put it in. Also, you can make the pita bread from scratch ahead of time, and I might make an Instructable on how to do that.

Step 3: Prepare the Pockets

To start it off, line the inside of the pita bread with lettuce. Add the mix between the lettuce. You can also eat the mix by itself as a salad, since it's so good. Now you're done! You have a quick and easy meal that you can make for everybody!
