Introduction: How to Make Slime (Ninja Turtle Ooze)
Step 1: Watch the Video!
Hey, look at this! There's a broken canister of mutant ooze leaking down into the sewers! But don't worry because this sticky slime is non-toxic, and it's so easy to make, a 3 year old can do it!
Watch this video to see how!
Step 2: Gather These Materials
Inspired by Dr. Anne Helmenstine with About.com, my kids and I found, and slightly modified, a recipe for making slime!
My kids went crazy for it! It's great stuff because it's basically harmless and extremely easy to make. So easy in fact, that my little 3-year-old did it himself (with a little coaching, of course).
If you'd like to make it at home, here's how we did it!
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
You will need:
* 1/2 teaspoon borax laundry booster (Found in grocery stores in the laundry detergent section)
* 5 ounces clear school glue (Usually in the craft section of some grocery stores, or stores like Wal-Mart)
* Green and yellow food coloring
* Water
Step 3: Make the Solutions
Make Solution "A"
In one container, mix:
* 1 cup of warm water
* 1/2 tsp of borax
Stir to dissolve as much as possible.
Make Solution "B"
In a separate container, mix together:
* 1/2 cup of water
* Entire 5 oz bottle of clear glue
* Stir in 2 drops of green food coloring
* Stir in 5 drops of yellow food coloring
Step 4: Mix the Solutions
Pour Solution "A" into Solution "B"
And right before your eyes will magically appear a gooey green flubber!
Holding this in front of a light makes it look like some sort of creepy alien experiment!
Step 5: Make a Cool Ooze Canister
I wanted to make a fun container for this ooze, and using these materials, came up with this one.
Materials:
*2 black 2" ABS clean-out adaptors
*2 black 2" ABS plugs from Home Depot.
For the tube;
*2" tube of acrylic (7" tall) works best,
OR
*Plastic soda bottle
Step 6: Make It Glow
With the ooze inside the container, I tried adding a yellow glow-stick to see what effect it would have.
It made the slime glow an eerie green light and makes it look radio-active!
I also noticed that putting the glow stick in the microwave for 4 seconds could make it glow 3 times as bright!
Step 7: Other Projects
That's how to make your very own Ninja Turtle Ooze.
Haven't see the video yet? You can still see it here!

Ik im very late but if you want a stretchy and thin slime then use the suggested borax recipe but if you want a more solid and thicker slime, then use a whole teaspoon of borax powder instead of only half a teaspoon.

Anything that contains boric acid such as eye drops, contact lens solution, tide, liquid starch (sta-flo), boric acid etc.

DON'T EVER MICROWAVE A GLOW STICK! just run it under some hot water in the sink instead....works much quicker and with less chance of poisoning your microwave

Make more borax water next time. Add it a little bit at a time so you don't turn it into a bouncy ball.

My brother and I made this for a Christmas present for our younger sister. The only clear glue we could find was BiC School Glue Clear Gel, from Spotlight. It worked out really well! It was going to be too expensive to find similar adaptors and plugs, so we just used PVC pipe caps, and glued one to one end of the tube and used the other one as a top to put on and off.
