Introduction: How to Make Wire Wrapped Rings

In this instructable I am going to teach you on how to make simple wire rings, this is a very simple craft perfect for beginners and can be personalised to ones liking.

Supplies

To make wire wrapped rings you will need only some materials:

  1. Wire 0.9 mm inch thick
  2. Beads 8mm with 1mm inch thick
  3. needle nose pliers
  4. wire cutters
  5. ring mandrel
  6. ring sizes

Step 1: Measuring Your Ring Size

The materials you will need for this step is the ring mandrel as well as the ring sizes. After you have these materials take your ring sizes and find one that is your size. Put it on your finger and the one that fits you is the size of your ring but now that you have your ring size check and see there should be the letter or the size written on it. Take that ring size and slide it on the mandrel so you have a clear marking.

Step 2: Cut the Wire

Take the wire and cut a long piece of it but make sure that it is more than 15 cm but don't make it too short, and it's not a problem if it's too long because in the end the extra wire will be cut off.

Step 3: Making the Base of the Ring

For this step take your bead of choice and slide it down the middle of the wire and then place it on the measurement number/letter of your ring. Let the bead rest on the groove of the mandrel, then flip it over and cross the wires and pull them back at the top.

Step 4: Shaping the Wire Around the Bead

In the last step we pulled the wires back up and now the wire on the right side take it and bend it around the bead, sort of shape it around it and back to the start. Therefore it becoming a circle. Repeat that step on both of the wire pieces that were sticking out.

Step 5: Making the Loops Around the Bead

Now that we have the wire around the bead, use your other finger on the opposite hand and place it on the bead so that the wire on there is not coming off and for support, take the wire and place it under the ring hole and pull it out therefore making it a loop next to the bead (use the pliers so its easier to pull) and repeat on both sides on the ring and make as many loops as desired.

Step 6: Cutting Off the Extra Wire

Now that you have finished your loops around the ring what were going to do is cut the extra wire off, and then with the pliers smoothen it down so the end of the wire that you have cut wont scratch your finger. And you are done!
