Introduction: How to Make Your Own PCB's

In this tutorial I will show you how you can design your own PCB's in minutes!

Step 1: What You Need

EasyEda:

easyeda.com (online or download)

PCBWAY:

pcbway.com (online)

Step 2: Create a New Project

After you have created a new project give it a name.

Now click SAVE.

You'll now have an empty page. At the top you can see whether it's saved or not At the bottom you can change Title, Company and other things of your Schematic.

Now you can go to lcsc.com.

If you want to have a 1K resistor in your project search for "1K".

Click on "More Results".

Now decide the fitting topic.

If you want to use an SMD resistor choose "Chip Resistor - Surface Mount".

If you want to use a Through Hole resistor choose "Metal Film Resistor (TH)".

Step 3: Choose Components on Lcsc.com

Now you can go to lcsc.com.

If you want to have a 1K resistor in your project search for "1K".

Click on "More Results".

Now decide the fitting topic.

If you want to use an SMD resistor choose "Chip Resistor - Surface Mount".

If you want to use a Through Hole resistor choose "Metal Film Resistor (TH)".

I want a 0603 SMD 1K resistor.

Click on "Pricing" to get the cheapest results first.

Scroll to see "Package" and "Resistance".

In my case I scroll until I see 0603 (Package) and 1000Ω (Resistance).

Now click on the blue Item Number (in my case C25585).

Here you can see details to the product.

If there is no "EasyEDA Libraries" you can't use it with EasyEda.

If it is compatible with EasyEda copy "LCSC Part #".

Now you can go back to EasyEda.

Step 4: Make the Schematic

First go to "Library".

There will pop up a new window.

Paste your previously copied Part Number, select the component and click "Place".

You can now place as many components as you want.

BTW: You can use your scroll wheel to zoom in and out.

Once you have placed your component go to EELib and scroll to Connectors.

ppoint your mouse to the first Connector and select "HDR-M-2.54_1x2".

Click on your schematic again and there you have a 1x2 2.54mm header.

I have also added an 0603 LED.

Now I want the led and the resistor to be connected in parallel.

To do this I use the Wire tool. So press key "w".

Click on the one leg of the LED and then on the other leg you want to connect.

Now if you have successfully connected all your components go on to the next step.

Step 5: Make the PCB

First go to "Design" and click on Convert to PCB of course if you want to update your schematic click on "Update PCB".

In this new window you can select the size of your PCB.

As "X" and "Y" type "0".

i want my PCB to be 10x5mm.

So what ever size your PCB should be just type it in.

Then click Apply.

On the right side change "Grid Size", "Snap Size" and "Alt Snap" to 0.25mm.

Drag your components to the PCB and put them where you want them to be.

You can rotate them with "r".

You see now these thin blue lines which indicate which components have to be connected together.

Like in the schematic press "w" and connect the components.

You can also connect Through Hole components with the Bottom Layer.

Now we have a Problem. SMD components can just be connected on one side of the PCB.

But we have a solution for that: VIA.

Just click on the end of the connection.

Then you can change again to Top Layer.

When you have finished the PCB go to the Top to "Fabrication" and click on "PCB Fabrication File(Gerber).

You can click "Yes, Check DRC". If there are any issues correct them and then proceed to the next step.

Step 6: Upload the Gerbers to PCBWAY

Now click on "Generate Gerber".

Next you can register on PCBWAY over this link: pcbway (refferal-Link).

Now go to PCB Instant Quote.

Then click on "Quick-order PCB: Upload gerber files & autofill parameters >>".

Click on "+ Add Gerber File" and upload the File.

Select how many PCB's you want. 5 and 10 pcs cost both 5$.

And select the color of your PCB.

Click "Save to Cart".

One of their Services will review the PCB and you can make Payment.

Step 7: That's It
