Introduction: How to Make a Beef and Cheese Burrito
PREP TIME: 5 mins
COOK TIME: 20-30 mins
SERVINGS: 4
INGREDIENTS:
• 1 Cup of Water
• 1 lb. of Ground Beef
• ½ of an Onion Diced
• 8-10 inch Flour Tortilla
• 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
• Pinch of Black Pepper & Salt
• 1 Packet of Taco Seasoning
• ½ Cup of Shredded Cheese Blend
OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS:
• 1 Cup of Rice
• 1 Tablespoon of Taco Sauce
• 1 Tablespoon of Sour Cream
Step 1:
Add the olive oil to a pan over medium heat and then add the diced onions. Stir and cook the diced onions for about a minute or two until golden.
Step 2:
With the onions over medium heat still, add 1lb of ground beef to the pan and let it cook for about 3-5 minutes until it begins to soften. Begin to stir and break down the beef and add black pepper and salt. Cook and occasionally stir the meat until it is no longer red. Once the meat has been cooked removed the excess fat into a strainer.
Step 3:
Add taco seasoning and water to your meat and cook for another 5-10 minutes. If included, add cooked rice into the pan at this time and stir and cook on low for 2-3 minutes before turning off the heat.
Step 4:
Take 1 8”-10” tortilla and lay over a plate. Grab 2-3 spoons of your cooked meat and put evenly in the center of your tortilla. Take a desired amount of shredded cheese and lay over your meet. Add sour cream and taco sauce if desired.
Step 5:
Fold the bottom edge of the tortilla then fold the opposite sides in and over the filling. Roll up the burrito from the bottom and make sure your burrito is secure. Take the rolled up burrito and cook over low heat in another pan to cook the tortilla as desired and melt the cheese inside the burrito. After about 1-2 minutes of cooking remove from heat.
