Introduction: How to Make a Blanket Into a Winter Cape!

This cape is great for beginners and even people who have never sowed before! It will take you an hour at most and it is suuuuuper comfy and will definitely keep you warm! I made it from a old blanket I found and I love it! I hope you really enjoy it making it and wearing it!

Supplies

You will need a blanket of your choice (try folding the blanket in half and put it around you to see how it fits you)

Thread

A Button

Sewing Needle

And Last but not least a working hand!

Step 1: Fold Your Blanket in Half

The first thing you need to do is fold your blanket in half. If your thinking how easy this is starting out then you are correct it is SUPER EASY!!

Step 2: Start Sewing

Now that you have your blanket folded in half, start sewing the sides, staying close to the edge and sewing neatly.

Step 3: Make the Strap

You can make this trap anyway you want. The way I chose to do it is fairly simple. You line up 3 of your fingers together and start putting thread around it in a circle. Then when you see it is sturdy enough you take it out and take thread and have it go around the circle you have many times until it wont open. No knots needed.

Step 4: Add the Button

To add the Button you go from underneath the button to where there should be a hole, then you put the needle through that and in the blanket. Then you keep repeating that step. Or you can find a video on Youtube to help you more.

Step 5: STAY WARM!

Now that you are done you can go show it off to everyone or just wear it, make some popcorn, and watch a movie. All from the comfort of this cape! :)
