Introduction: How to Make a Blindness Cane Support
A wearable 3D printable support for blindness cane. It's a little but yet practical support which people can attach to belt, backpack or anything else in order to get an extra place where put the cane. That provides, for instance, a place to support the cane while opening a door with keys without rely it on the wall or floor.
Supplies
For this waerable you only need 5 things:
- A 3D printer (in case you haven't, searching one near you, there will probably be someone in your school or neighbourhood that has one).
- Some filament (this model is made by PLA): 14.8g aprox.
- The file attached here.
- And a lot of patience: between 1-2 houres, depending on the printer, the size, the filament, etc.
- Velcro or other kinf of adjustable straps to attach.
Step 1: Download the File.
IT WILL TAKE YOU JUST 3 STEPS!
1.First things first, download the document attached (.gcode) and print it in any 3D printer
*This model is made for a PRUSA 3D printers, 0.4mm PLA filament.
If you have acces to another type of 3D printer, choose the format (.STL) and feel free to make your own adjustments.
Step 2: Print the Thing!
2.Print the support. It will take between 1-2 hours.
This is the worst step, because it requieres some time.
Be patience, it's worthy :)
Step 3: Cut the Straps
3.Once the piece it's been printed, cut a Velcro strap and adjust it around the two gaps.
CONGRATULATONS! YOU HAVE YOUR OWN PERSONAL BLINDNESS CANE SUPPORT.
