Intro: How to Make a Dome

Hi in this Instructable I will show you how to make a paper dome for your modeling projects for example.

To start you can print the following template:

Or for your own measures go to the final step.

UPDATE: I've programmed a measurement calculator for custom sizes . Check it out.

STEP 1: Cutting

First cut all the parts of the template but don't forget to add the flaps !

Then fold along each line.

STEP 2: Assembly

Glue all the parts together to form your dome.

STEP 3: Other Measures

I wrote a Python code to allow you to choose your own radius length.

You only have to run the program with Spyder, Idle... and then use the plan (pdf file) in the Dome_size_package to find which length goes where.

I've already calculate the measures for some standard radius length. These measures are in a .txt file in the package

Can you please post the template to instructables? The website with the pdf is very sketchy and I really don't think making a paper dome is worth letting my computer get hacked or downloading malware.

Lol what? Mega isn't a sketchy website. Its being used by millions of people as a could storage. There is nothing sketchy about it whatsoever

very nice, I even went & used the calculator u programed. I am inspired by ur brain! mine unfortunately is broken! and I can't figure out how to use the measurements given as answer to the radius of the dome I wish to "construct" 🤯🤤😵
