Introduction: How to Make a Lightsaber in Tinkercad

About: I'm a 3D Designer from Tinkercad. Here you will find couple fun and interactive instructables.

In this tutorial we will be making a realistic lightsaber in Tinkercad. For the tutorial I was making the Obi-Wan Kenobi Lightsaber. But you can choose any lightsaber you want or create your own.

Supplies

For this tutorial you will need:

1) Tinkercad

2) A reference image of the lightsaber you want to make

You can also use the file I gave below as a reference.

Step 1: Making the Hilt

In this step you will start by making the hilt. Get multiple color cylinders and choose a lightsaber style you want to make.

I was making Obi-Wan Kenobi's lightsaber so on the bottom I made a scaled half-cut cone, then added multiple cylinders on top. After, you can add a smaller cylinder and another scaled half-cut cone.

Step 2: Adding the Hand Grippers

In this step you will be adding the hand grippers to your lightsaber hilt. For the gray hand grip, add and scale down a cube. Then press control D. Reposition and rotate the cube until it is not that far from the first one. Press control D again and you see the function rotating and repositioning the cube on its own. Do it all the way around. If it doesn't work, you probably deselected the cube while moving it the first time. Now you have finished the gray part do the same to black hand grip. When you finish move onto the next step.

Step 3: Activation Lever and Adjuster

In this step you will be making the activation lever and the adjusting wheel. First, we will be making the activation lever. To make it I made a grey cube and scaled it into a rectangle. After that I added two other rectangle plates on each side of the cube. Connect the activation lever to one side of the lightsaber. Now we will be making the adjusting wheel. First you will need to get a black cylinder, add a smaller white cylinder in the middle and add the same big black one on top. Now add a small circle in the middle of the newly made shape. Then the adjuster is ready. Connect it on the opposite side of the activation lever.

Step 4: Making the Blade Emitter

In this final step we will be making the blade emitter for the lightsaber. To make it first add 3 cylinders that get bigger than the one before. Then add another half-cut cone on top of the cylinders. On top of the cone add a cylinder that is the same size since the one before the half-cut cone. After that add 6 cylinders. The first one should be smaller that the one before. The next five should be bigger than the small one. Make them grow in size with each cylinder. Finally connect the emitter to the hilt of the lightsaber by aligning it and then pull it up to the very top. Group the last version of the design.

Step 5: Add Ons

When your lightsaber is finished you can also make an add on to it.

1) You can add a belt ring to make your lightsaber even more realistic.

2) You can add a blade to your newly made lightsaber.

3) You can make your lightsaber open and show its inside Kyber crystal and mechanism.

Step 6: You Are Done!

You are now done! Thank you for reading my Instructable. Share it with your friends and add a make if you made my project!
